This is my bummed out casual day. I tend to be more tomboyish than tomgirlish on these kind of days, but I try to make them look somewhat interesting with some kind of accessory. I was kind of vibing off of Tom Sawyer meets True Grit. And the setting was perfect for the outfit. Normally the hay bales are not there, but today when Frankie and I were driving around for locations, I noticed that this spot had added the hay since the last time I saw it and I saw Frankie's eyes salivating. Anyway, a momentary pause of my ramblings to give the price check:
Army Green Wool Blazer:: Goodwill 5.99
Mossimo Denim Shirt:: Salvation Army 4.99
Forever21 Jeans:: (old purchase 10.98 so not included in challenge)
Wide Brim Hat:: Target (old purchase 19.99)
Bass suede moccasin boots:: (old purchase 24.99)
So, aside from the old purchases that weren't made within the last 3 months, I ended up only spending about $11 on my whole outfit for the month of November for an outfit! Hey, I am getting better at this!
This is freaking awesome - seriously! Everything from the clothes to the shoot location! Extremely impressive!
ReplyDeleteThe location was on South Conway going toward the airport and the 408. It was this empty space across the street from a residential area. I know you like photography so I figured you might check it out if you are in the mood for exploring :}
DeletePS- Which GW and SA do you frequent? I'm always looking for new places, especially since Thriftko closed down a few years back.
ReplyDeleteOh girl I have some nuggets for you: GW I usually go to the one off of Michigan Ave right behind the Publix off of Orange Ave, or the one off of Curry and Goldenrod. SA I go to the one off 436 in Cassleberry across from Walmart. I also like to hit up the Community Thrift Store off Edgewater going toward Lee Rd. You have to pay in cash, but the sales are ridiculous and the prices are dirt cheap! Hope this helps!
DeleteYou are AWESOME, thank you for that! :)
DeleteI hit the SA in Casselberry a lot (I was there today, it was crazy busy). I was also at the GW in Casselberry on 434 (crazy busy as well). They're hit or miss but when you do score, it's good! I found the ultimate pair of vintage leather wing tips at the little GW on Orange Ave. I bet the stores near down town have really cool stuff!!!
After browsing your blog and seeing some of your finds I can tell I'm missing out by limiting myself to thrifting close to home.
Gorgeous! Looks much more expensive than $50 to me. I love the wool blazer and the red socks peeping out :) The look also fits well with the scenery!

Thanks Ellie! The red socks was a fluke! I was trying to change in the car while the photographer was checking lighting and I was in a rush because we were losing light so major rush job, but it worked hahaha!
