I am back!...well at least when I have the time. I found this wonderful 100% leather blazer and a matching skirt at Edgewater's thrift store for $18.00! Then I got the new kicks for $15 at C. Russe with a discount my sister got while buying her pair. The darling necklace is from World Market for $10. All under $50. This tomgirl is patting herself on the back!

Tomorrow I am helping my friend out with his portfolio and I am doing headshots, which means I had the tedious task of washing and straightening my hair the night before. Of course it would rain, but in an effort to protect all my hard work (4hrs total) I knew I was going to have to do a hat. The rest of the outfit followed suit.

LIFE | So Funny Story

Not sure how many of you follow me on instagram (@thetomgirl) but if you do, you might have caught my blunder from this weekend. I said I was heading to Boca for a wedding. Drove 3.5 hrs the night before and checked into my hotel. 15 min in I started plan my itinerary for the next day and my route from my hotel to the ceremony. The ceremony...was in Bradenton. 4 hrs away. I morphed into 4 yr old laughing and crying at the same time while doing one of those tantrum dances. I couldnt believe I made such an awful mistake! In five minutes I had my stay cancelled, a hotel booked, and my stuff back in the car. The wedding was beautiful, but I was exhausted! So yeah thats my funny story.

OOTD | All things Primark

My friend Chelsea's birthday is tonight, and I know for the most part people are always casually chic, so what better way to sport this than with my new Euro duds? Everything save the jewelry I got from Primark.

INSPIRATION | Farmers Markets

Farmers Markets. There are so many here in Orlando. It reminds me of when my family lived overseas and my mum used to get fresh fruits and veggies from the local vendors. I don't always get my produce from here (Freshville Farms is where its at); a lot of times I go here just for the scene itself. The colors of freshly picked vegetables and flowers. The Saturday winter weather, which is really like a normal fall day in the north. The smell of kettle popcorn and the taste of fresh squeezed orange juice.

Fresh.

That's what lures me to the Farmer's Market. My wardrobe is inspired by the mixture of vibrant vegetable hues and aged smells of cheeses and old wood planks and the crisp coldness of the winter morning air.

Relaxed but alive. That was my goal. A simple thermal and button up sweater, layered with a navy blue blazer and marigold yellow pants, with my trusty oxfords. An Aztec patterned scarf for texture. Never overdone. Never undercooked. It is the happy medium of a tomgirl.

OOTD | Downton Love

Did anyone catch last nights episode of Downton? I decided to be good and wait for the PBS premiere instead of impatiently watching it online. I waited almost two years for them to make season two after being left wanting more, so I was seasoned to waiting. Anyway, sporting some antiques and new things to go along with this season's theme of clinging to the old while embracing the new.

Second day in Berlin and we are supposed to be eating at the TV tower which I hear has a nice restaurant in it, so I want to dress nice for the occasion even if I am going to be shopping for most of the day. If the weather keeps up, I am going to have to buy something before the 17th because chattering teeth is not only NOT cute, but crazy looking.

Off to Berlin. It is a four hour drive from where I am and I will be with five girls so I need to dress as comfortably as possible. Blue jeans are the pants of choice as it is FREEZING here. I might have to get a different jacket as the one I have for outside attire hasn't been cutting it since I got here!

 This outfit I wore for my flight and the first day I was in Bielefeld, mostly because of the 6 hour time change. Note:: if you are going to wear wedges of any kind in the airport, wear Dr. Scholl's. Glad I did. My feet were very happy I did!

LIFE | Christmas Dinner

Last night I had a small get together with friends family over at my place for a little going away/Christmas dinner. Whenever I am invited over for dinner, its always casual, but for whatever reason I guess when I host things people want to get dressed even if I haven't stressed it at all. Well, these lovely folk were dolled and so I had to attempt to look the part. J.O. said he liked my "Mullet" skirt, haha which I had never heard before but it seems appropriate.

This is my bummed out casual day. I tend to be more tomboyish than tomgirlish on these kind of days, but I try to make them look somewhat interesting with some kind of accessory. I was kind of vibing off of Tom Sawyer meets True Grit. And the setting was perfect for the outfit. Normally the hay bales are not there, but today when Frankie and I were driving around for locations, I noticed that this spot had added the hay since the last time I saw it and I saw Frankie's eyes salivating. Anyway, a  momentary pause of my ramblings to give the price check:
